What experience grounds my celebrancy work?

Before founding Bravely Me, I spent over twelve years as a pastor. I prepared and delivered weekly sermons, guided families through grief and celebration, and supported people through major life transitions.

I hold a Bachelor of Divinity in Theology and a TEFL certification. My professional background includes training in trauma-informed care and inclusive ceremony practice. My personal path includes coming out later in life, stepping away from religious leadership, and rebuilding my life across different cultures.

I officiate weddings, elopements, funerals, and naming ceremonies for clients from all backgrounds. I sit with individuals during times of loss, assist them through major life decisions, and help them mark significant personal milestones.

I manage both the practical logistics and the emotional requirements of your ceremony.

The King Protea serves as the emblem and visual foundation for Bravely Me.

This South African flower, which thrives in harsh environments and regenerates following wildfire, reflects the central purpose of this celebrancy practice:

Focus: Its pointed leaves direct attention upward, representing clarity and intent.

The symbol honours my South African background and my personal experience of starting anew. It represents what I offer you through every ceremony: the strength to embrace transition and mark your milestone with total honesty.
